it is like a taboo and we seldom discuss it in our daily lives.
the only time when it invades our curiosity is when someone we love or we strike this unfortunate '4D'
Working in the operating theatre, i have seen alot. in general surgery, 80% of the operations involve cancer. there are so many people who are fighting for their survival everday.

Cause: Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infections
Effect: innocent pretty women (both sexually and non-sexually active)
Saying so, it is also a highly curable disease and early detection = key to survival!
in this new 'SEX' age, the young ones are discovering sex at an incredibility young age! and early onset of such activity puts them at a high risk.
smoking is also one of the risk factors.
sadly, there is hardly any characteristic symptoms.
early cervical cancer could house on the surface of our cervix silently over 8-10 years. however, once it hits the deeper tissues, our death sentence would be 2-3 years!
yearly Pap Smear test should be done once a woman gets a sexually active. it might be quite embarrassing because we would have to show our 'mei-mei' to a gynecologist.
but it only takes less than 5 mins to get a scrap of the cells. and if the result is good, you get a year of comfort and reasurrance!
